Does a breakdown shotgun kick down by itself when it is shot?

i got a new england break down shotgun from jacks pawn shot in marion ohio for 100 dollars and it worked good until yesterday i shot a federal and it kicked the gun down when i shot it now whenever i shoot it it kicks open without me pressing the release on is my gun broken?
