I never lost my mucus plug so I wouldn't wait for that as a definite sign. Let me just say that the heading you are talking about sounds exactly like what it felt like for me when my water broke, like there were three heads and then it all just gushed out. When i was in early labour I was also vomiting... If I were you I wouldn't be going out and about much because it does sound like its going to happen soon
