Are fps declining in skill required?

Many shooting games today require less skill than other shooting games. For example, the Halo series and the Call of Duty series are infamous users of aim-ists. The shooting set-up actually helps you keep aim by gently tugging your cross-hair towards enemies. Not all shooting games are like this, though. Left 4 Dead, for instance, is all old-fashioned do-it-yourself shooting.
