How do I deal with his wife that doesn't like me?

A guy at work told me his wife doesn't like me as she is jealous of me and thinks there may be something going on. She has only met me once and it was just a hello and how are you type of meeting so she doesn't even know me. I have a work function in a couple of weeks as a farewell to one of the employees. Should I avoid going? Or if I should go what should I do in regards to this guy and his wife? I am also in a relationship so I will be with someone on the night.
